boot obsessed ...

so, i have been on the hunt for a perfect pair of brown boots for years. i exaggerate not. it's been years. i've been wanting this cognac brown color to be exact.

i came across these steve madden inka boots at macy's while i was in denver last month, and i was sold. they aren't the exact perfect pair i'd been looking for all this time, but are pretty darn close. and, the price isn't bad either.

so, do you love to wear boots when it's cold too?

re-post: mini pumpkin wreath ...

i am re-posting my mini-pumpkin wreath tutorial from a few years back, because i got a lot of inquiries from you about fall wreath ideas. i still need to get one together for this year... i haven't come up with any ideas yet, hopefully soon.

'til then.

this was a fun wreath i did a few years ago. and, yes. those are real mini-pumpkins.

here are the instructions:

supplies
mini pumpkins [enough fill your wreath]
wire wreath from craft store [found near flower supplies]
ribbon
hot glue gun/glue

directions
i basically just wrapped ribbon around the wire frame and glued in in place.
then, i hot glued each pumpkin one by one around it. tied a ribbon around the top to hang it from.

voila!

who needs a radio? ...

ok, forgive me for my dumb and dumber reference in my title. i just couldn't help myself. and, i'll admit, at one point in my life it was my favorite movie and i probably still know all the lines by heart.

...anyway.

Evoke Mio by Orla Kiely

isn't this orla kiely radio amazing?! i would love one!

{designed by jessica helgerson via design sponge}

and, this boy's room from cooking mag is fun too!
i love the malm bed from ikea, and the price. i'm thinking of getting this for my little ezra. my only concern is the sharp corners. anyone have this bed? you like?

{via ohdeedoh}

fill a tote ...

i want to throw a party just to have this darling fill a tote area.
what a great idea! i would love to be invited to a party with a table like this!

an update ...

Photobucket

i'm starting to make a dent (well, a tiny one) in my fall to do list.

here are a few things we've managed to get done so far.

and, many are going to be checked off my list soon!

* decorate for halloween, check!
* go to gardner village to see the witches, check! (wow, was it packed, i forgot it's fall break for schools)
* make homemade chili for the first time, check! (although, i'm still on the search for a good recipe, any suggestions?)
* finish sewing norah's halloween costume, check! (i just made the cape, it has a hood too! the little dress i found at a thrift store a while back, making it an easy decision for me to do little red riding hood! she's going to be so cute! i'm thinking of doing a small white apron too? any thoughts?)

i'm just loving fall so far!

...and, p.s. thanks design mom for the mention on babble about my virtual halloween party post!
