Holiday // Bubble Non-Candy Class Valentine’s Free Printables

February 4, 2011

Non-Candy Valentine Free Printable

My almost four year old Ezra is in preschool this year, which means we had to come up with a fun Valentine for his class mates.

I love to give out non-candy class Valentine’s, because one, they get so much candy, and two there are so many kids with food allergies these days, it is nice to give out an allergy free class valentine. The card says, “Being your friend make me BURST with joy!  Happy Valentine’s Day!”

Ezra had a great time writing “love” Ezra on the back of each card.

Then, he helped me attached all the bubbles to the card, and package them up in clear packages for all his friends.

Print the cards on card stock, and the stickers on the full sheet sticker label paper. (source above)
Have your little one sign the back of the card.
Label all your bubbles, then glue or tape them to the card, and place them in the clear bags.

heart shaped pizza …

February 3, 2011

Can you believe February is already here?  Or, I guess for some of us, it didn’t come soon enough, with all the terribly cold weather.    I have a great recipe to share for some homemade pizza, that will really warm your “heart.”
This heart-shaped homemade pizza would be a great way to celebrate Valentine’s day with the ones you love.   My children went crazy over this pizza.  It tasted great, and the heart shape really made it a fun memorable dinner.

My absolute favorite pizza dough recipe is overnight pizza dough, from the Bon Appetit April 2009 issue.  It does take a little planning in advance, but the dough comes out just perfect.
And, here is my sauce recipe.  I love this recipe because it tastes very fresh!
{Pizza Sauce}
1 can diced or whole tomatoes, undrained.
1-2 garlic cloves minced
2 tbs olive oil
1 tbs fresh basil (optional)
1 tsp sugar
1/2 of a 6 oz can of tomato paste.
stir all ingredients and place in a saucepan.  bring a simmer, then simmer on low for 20 minutes.
remove from heat then and blend in blender.
roll out dough based on directions, and add favorite toppings.  we used fresh mozzerella.
Bake at 500 degrees for about 10 minutes for the mini-pizzas. or 15 minutes or so for larger ones.
I like to use a pizza baking stone, and I heat it up in my oven towards the bottom rack for about an hour before I cook the pizzas on it.
Enjoy!
