DIY: christmas place cards / name cards…

December 9, 2010

i made another little christmas craft- some fun place cards for your holiday table.  although, you can use them for more than just christmas.
we usually have a fun brunch christmas morning with our little family after we open presents.  so, i thought it would be fun to add our own little place cards to spruce up the table a little bit.  but, these would be great idea for your christmas parties that are sure to be coming up! {p.s.- do you spy my holiday garland in these pictures?}

DIY christmas name / place cards  {here is a little run down on how i made them}:

  • i was able to use my new die cut machine, from lifestyle crafts.  i used the nesting circles die to cut out the middle music sheet paper, then i used the nesting scalloped circles to cut out the gold poster paper scalloped paper. {all from their new basics release}
  • i then printed out on white textured cardstock our names in the font that i liked, then cut out the names into strips.
  • i then glued the music sheet circle to the gold scallop, then bent/folded the name strips twice on each end so they were more 3-d and glued on the ends to the rest.
  • the finishing touch was a cute little mini-clothes pin that i picked up at the craft store.
  • i chose to put them in little succulent plant pots that i already had {inspired by this post}, but really, you could place them just about anywhere.

i hope this helps with your holiday planning!

re-post: easter toolbox …

April 2, 2010

i thought i’d do a little re-post on the easter toolbox i put together for ezra last year in case anyone was in need of a last minute easter idea.it was a lot of fun filling it up with goodies. this year, i [um, i mean, the easter bunny] fully intends to stock up the same toolbox with all sorts of new toys and goodies. [i bought a ton of annie’s bunnies, the crackers and the fruit snacks.. loved they they are all natural, and are already in the shape of bunnies! because, really this kid does not need any more candy…]can’t wait to see his face when he see’s the easter bunny made a visit to our house!

caramel popcorn recipe
for neighbor gifts this year, i decided to make caramel popcorn. {check out my recipe on my latest zupas post, here.}
i had these darling window bakers bags i’ve been wanting to use. so, the packaging just kind of fell into place!
i love how they turned out!

here’s what you need for a cute christmas goodie package:

  • bakers twine or string [bakers twine is available in my shop!]
  • labels
  • snowflake ornaments or box toppers [i found these cute ones at target]
  • bakers bags [or lunch bags will work!] *if you are intersted, i can list a few in my shop.
  • a goodie to fill the bag!
just fill the bag, and tie the top with twine and secure your ornament and tag!

..now, i’m off to make more! i’ve delivered a few, but still have more to go..
