We were excited to get our latest Mo Mail package in the mail, and partner with Disney Hyperion again this month!  Nanette’s Baguette is an adorable new book for kids by award winning author Mo Willems!  My little Thomas is at that stage where he is just learning to read, and he is loving reading books!

Nanette’s Baguette is a hilarious rhyming picture book that follows Nanette on her first big trip to the bakery.  But, will she actually return with the bread?  I guess you will have to read to find out!  I also love that it rhymes!  I feel like that really helps with my kids literacy!

Parental Controls for your Computer

Parental Controls for your Computer

Sophos provided me with compensation in exchange for this sponsored blog post, however all opinions expressed here are my own.

When it comes to protecting my family, like most parents, I take that job very seriously.  For a while now it has been weighing on my mind that I haven’t been taking the proper precautions to keep my family safe during their time using the Internet.  Now that my kids are in Elementary school, they are required to use our home computer a lot more often than before. And, while I have always heavily monitored their time behind any kind of screen, I still wasn’t taking all the steps I needed to in order to keep them safe online.

It is not that I didn’t care about their online safety.   I was just unsure about the best way to do it, which software I could trust, or which one was the best.  It really was something that was keeping me up at night.  I would never leave my kids home without supervision where I knew danger was lurking, so why was I giving them access to our computer with a whole world of scary things that they could access to at their fingertips?!  Much like we take the proper precautions to send our kids off to ride their bicycles with a helmet, it is also important to take the appropriate steps to keep our families safe on the Internet.  I know I would feel horrible if they ran into something inappropriate or dangerous due to my neglect to put in place the proper procautions.

I am so glad that I was recently introduced to Sophos Home.  Sophos Home offers Free Business-Grade Security for your Home Macs and PC’s.  It is the same trusted security that protects millions of business computer worldwide, and they offer it to Families for Free!

Sometimes it can be hard to constantly come up with a nutritious lunch for my kids (and myself) day after day.  But, if you really break it down, it doesn’t have to be difficult!  I’m super excited to be partnering with Sargento over the next several months, and today I’m thrilled to provide some ideas and tips for nutritious and fun lunches as well as snack ideas!  I hope you enjoy the video!  It was a lot of fun to come up with creative ways to fill the lunchbox!

It isn’t always easy and convenient to feed and provide our families with the best options.  But, at the end of the day, it is up to us to make those decisions, and help guide our kids to a robust lifestyle and good relationship with food.  Even as adults, it is hard to make good choices when our schedules are so busy, and we just plain don’t have a lot of time!  But, I have some tips to help make putting together lunches and snacks easier on you!

10 Tips to make a Nutritious Lunch for Kids (and Adults!):

  1. Use high quality, fresh ingredients:  When it comes to our food choices, we have to consider and make good choices on what we are feeding our families.  I always try to serve my family the best quality ingredients, and make good choices on the products we eat.  My kids and I love eating Sargento Cheese in our lunches as well as for snacks!  The kids especially love when I get creative and use cookie cutters, or present their lunches and snacks in a fun way.
