red, white, and two: invitations …

July 18, 2011

i’m excited to share with you some of the fun details from my little norah’s red, white, and two party!

first up, the invitation.
even in the digital age, i love to put together a physical invitation for all my parties.  i really feel like it sets the stage for the party, and gets your guests excited for a fun event!

this invitation was a lot of fun to put together!  i stuck with the “red, white and blue” theme and i designed the invitation and printed it on textured card stock.

next, i used a few different products from lifestyle crafts for the finishing touches.
i used the adjustable belly band die cut, to cut out a band to wrap around the invitation.
then, i used one of nesting frames from their new possibilities release.  (probably some of my favorite products they have released, available now!)
i used the L letterpress to letter press “it’s a party” on one of the nesting frames using the plate from the splendor printing plates.  and, i threw in a few sparklers!  for the finishing touch, i used the sweet and spicy paper to line the envelopes using the no. 10 envelope liner collection.

i had a lot of fun putting these invitations together, and all of the little recipients loved the sparklers to use for later!

garlic herb butter …

July 14, 2011

I made a batch of this garlic herb butter to put on some corn on the cob at my daughters birthday party, and I am obsessed.
I have found so many ways to use it the last few weeks.  On corn on the cob, pasta, mashed potatoes, fresh bread, you name it!  It really is that good!  And, I have been able to use all the fresh herbs from my garden that have been springing up all over the place.
{Garlic Herb Butter}
3 sticks unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic
4 large basil leaves, chopped small (about 1 tablespoons)
1/4 cup chives, chopped small
1 tablespoon, fresh parsley, chopped
small squeeze of fresh lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon coarse sea salt
In a medium bowl (I used my kitchen aid mixer with the paddle attachment), beat the butter on medium until nice and whipped.
Roughly chop up garlic and sprinkle some of the salt on it.  Using your knife smash and chop the garlic until it makes a paste.
Add the garlic, and the other ingredients to the butter and whip together.*
Place mixture carefully onto plastic wrap and roll it up.
Place in the freezer until set, then you can move it to the fridge.  Slice and serve.  Store in fridge.
Serve it with fresh bread, rolls, corn on the cob, pasta, make garlic bread, mashed potatoes, with seafood.
So good!
*If you are serving with fresh rolls or bread, you can leave it whipped and serve it right away.
Enjoy!

14kt gold filled chain upgrade option …

July 12, 2011

good news!

i am now offering a 14kt gold filled chain upgrade in my shop.
way back when i started armelle jewelry, i only offered my gold necklaces in 14kt gold filled chain.  i got a lot of requests to make my necklaces more affordable, so in the past few years i switched over to gold-plated chain so i could pass on the savings to my customers.

but, i would still like to offer my customers a higher quality option.  so, in the armelle shop there is now a listing to upgrade any gold necklace to 14kt gold filled chain!

happy shopping!  and, don’t forget, all remaining sale items have free shipping!
