We were excited to get our latest Mo Mail package in the mail, and partner with Disney Hyperion again this month! Nanette’s Baguette is an adorable new book for kids by award winning author Mo Willems! My little Thomas is at that stage where he is just learning to read, and he is loving reading books!
Nanette’s Baguette is a hilarious rhyming picture book that follows Nanette on her first big trip to the bakery. But, will she actually return with the bread? I guess you will have to read to find out! I also love that it rhymes! I feel like that really helps with my kids literacy!

When it comes to protecting my family, like most parents, I take that job very seriously. For a while now it has been weighing on my mind that I haven’t been taking the proper precautions to keep my family safe during their time using the Internet. Now that my kids are in Elementary school, they are required to use our home computer a lot more often than before. And, while I have always heavily monitored their time behind any kind of screen, I still wasn’t taking all the steps I needed to in order to keep them safe online.
It is not that I didn’t care about their online safety. I was just unsure about the best way to do it, which software I could trust, or which one was the best. It really was something that was keeping me up at night. I would never leave my kids home without supervision where I knew danger was lurking, so why was I giving them access to our computer with a whole world of scary things that they could access to at their fingertips?! Much like we take the proper precautions to send our kids off to ride their bicycles with a helmet, it is also important to take the appropriate steps to keep our families safe on the Internet. I know I would feel horrible if they ran into something inappropriate or dangerous due to my neglect to put in place the proper procautions.

I don’t know about you, but the second the cooler weather hits, and the crisp fall air rolls into the valley, then it is soup season from here on out! All day long, I am over here craving soup!
Today I am partnering with Sargento Cheese to share my favorite French onion soup recipe! I just loved how it turned out! I think the flavor is deep, robust and spot on! Sargento Sliced Swiss Cheese, paired with their Artisan Blends Shredded Swiss Cheese is the perfect addition and finishing touch to the soup, and the gooey cheese with the baguette croutons makes for such tasty soup!
Each year I love to put together a fun Fall Dinner for my family to help welcome in the season, and sometimes I like to add a few spooky touches as we gear up to celebrate Halloween. The kids think it is so fun to have a few twists on an otherwise normal dinner, and we love to sit down together and enjoy a nice meal as a family!
For our Fall Family dinner this year, I decided to prepare a French onion soup! There is not much that is as comforting as a bowl of French onion soup with that nice gooey warm cheese and crouton! It’s a favorite among the adults and kids! To add a little twist on and add a little spooky flair, I decided to surprise the kids with a few little ghoulish eyes to top their soup, and they just thought it was so fun! Just a few little adjustments, and they are so pleased! I love seeing how excited they get about the little things!
I set the table with a nod to the season, but used some not-so-traditional fall colors, to create a fun yet sophisticated setting with a few little spooks thrown in there! I also think this would make a lovely table for just about any season minus the pumpkins and spooks, but also it would be perfect for a Thanksgiving spread!
I love that we have kept this tradition alive over the years, and the kids think it is so fun to have an otherwise regular family dinner be a little more dressed up, and festive than normal! I love to sprinkle little goodies throughout the table, and serve some fresh apple cider! They made cheers all throughout the dinner! I just love something to celebrate, and most of all having fun traditions and making lasting memories to look back on in years to come!
