Did you say Wal-Mart?

August 7, 2007

I’m just as surprised as you are about these new cute baby bedding sets from Wal-Mart. They are quite cute and stylish. …. and.. only $79.97 for a 4-piece set. Crazy.

I wish this print was around when I sewed my own baby bedding from House, Inc. Fabric to avoid paying $350 just for the 3 piece set.

You can check out the baby bedding I sewed for my little guy here in case you missed it. or I’ll just post a picture below. I was pleased with how it turned out… but at $34.00 a yard.. it was still a little pricey. But with all the left over fabric I was able to make curtains, blanket and some other fun things like a lamp shade and fabric boards. .. and pillows.. still to come.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow, that is super cute–and the mod crib and dresser set is also super stylin’ for Wal-Mart! I never would have expected it!

Wal-Mart gives me the heebie-jeebies but I still go there occasionally–their potted plants are really cheap, for example, and among the predictably ugly baby clothes there are some really cute and very cheap finds.

I still won’t shop at Walmart, but the crib bedding you made is incredible. You are a wonderful seamstress! So cute!

I had NO IDEA Wal-mart sold this kind of thing-Target maybe, but never Wal-Mart. I definitely have more respect for the store now! ๐Ÿ™‚

I ditto Kelly. I’m sure your bedding is way more well made…and it’s way more sentimental. I still have baby blankets my mom and grandma made for me. :o)

    Jade… you are too funny..
I love you to death… but I don’t know if I’d attempt to make baby bedding again anytime soon even if I got paid. ๐Ÿ™‚ It was fun, but a lot of work.. I was cursing myself towards the end wondering why I just didn’t buy it ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t have a patterned.. I just made up my own measurements. I looked for a patterned at JoAnn’s but I couldn’t find one I liked, so I improvised.
