Life’s Greatest Lessons

August 27, 2007

Forgive me for my lack of blogging lately as I’ve been a bit of a book worm the past few days. I fell back in love with my local library and have been reserving and checking out books like crazy. I used to do this all the time when I lived in the Midwest. I used to go through a book on CD everyday while at work.

The other day I read the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. I really enjoyed this book and I loved the fact that it is a true story. It’s nice to pick up a book now and again that helps you put life into perspective and learn some good life lessons. So, if you haven’t read it, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s a nice fast read.

I just wanted to share my favorite quote from the book… and of course there are many others like it.. so here you go… and have a great day!

So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing thing that are important. That is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”

Glad I found this blog today. Enjoyed the read and the photos.

Here comes an invitation to visit my blog–this week if possible–as my “Spotlight the Youth” contest ends Friday, and lots of votes are needed to make it work. So please spread the word.

    Thanks so much
