italian sausage spaghetti sauce …

There is something about a good homemade spaghetti sauce.  Homemade sauce is by far superior to store bought sauce from a jar, and it can be really easy to make.
This sauce in particular is easy because it mostly slow cooks in a crockpot, so you can forget about it all day and have a nice home-cooked meal at the end of the day.
I also love the Italian sausage.  It is a perfect addition to the sauce and the spices in the meat add a nice flavor.
{Italian Sausage Spaghetti Sauce}
serves 6
1 lb Italian sausage
1/2 cup diced onions
4 oz fresh mushrooms, about 1-1/2 cups
1/2 of a green pepper, diced
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tbs sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
14 oz can crushed tomatoes
6 oz can tomato paste
brown the sausage in a skillet, drain fat.  transfer to large crockpot/slow cooker.
add remaining ingredients.
cook on low for 6-8 hours
pour over favorite cooked pasta.
