a tiny birthday party …

July 8, 2010

Norah’s tiny first birthday party was a success, and a lot of fun! i was happy with how everything turned out, and we were able to celebrate my tiny little girl’s big day.
For the menu, we had all things tiny.
The darling flower garland is from the etsy shop, pretty swell, and i made the white doily garland.
Greek Bow Tie Pasta Salad
tiny bow tie greek pasta salad {made with mini-bow tie pasta}
tiny fruit kabobs
Tiny hamburgers and hotdogs {pictured without the meat}
I used rolls from the grocery store, and i had their bakery make me tiny hot dog buns.
tiny water {re-labeled tiny water botttles}
tiny cakes + tiny drinks
tiny doughnuts, tiny brownies, and tiny chips
tiny treats
tiny gummy bears, gold fish, and candies
my friend jane let us borrow her fun bounce houses, so we let the kids run wild in the back instead of having games. it was a hit! my little ezra especially enjoyed them!
and, of course the tiny birthday girl
we love this little girl so much! i can’t believe she’s already one!
p.s. if you have any questions about the party or where i got things, please let a comment and i’ll be sure to answer.

    hi!

    i had a local grocery store bake the mini hot dog buns. i had a hard time finding mini hot dogs, so i just bought the longer nathan's kosher hotdogs and cut them in half to fit the buns.
    hope this helps!

    SO cute…your baby and the party. My little girl turns 1 on Sunday and I don't have anything nearly as fancy as this planned! Inspirational post, as always.

    adorable! you've inspired me to do a tiny party for my sister's baby shower next month.

    did you bring your tiny balloons to the craft store and have them filled up with helium?

    and where did you find the tiny magnifying glasses?

    hello all!

    thanks for the nice comments.
    here are some answers to your questions.

    ariel- i bought the tiny 5" balloons at the party store zurchers. i actually bought a helium tank and filled them at home. you can buy small helium tanks at walmart or target for around $20-$30.

    the tiny magnifying glasses are also from the party store, zurchers

    Reagan- the striped table cloth is actually a vintage sheet i picked up at a thrift store.

    carly- her bow is from my friend ann's cute shop louandlee.etsy.com

    joslyn- the cake stands are martha stewart cake stands found at macy's department store.

    ruth- all the white serving plates are from wal-mart of all places. the salad bowl was found there too. the floral bowls are liberty of london for target, and some of the smaller pedestal bowls are from my milk glass collection i've been collecting from thrift stores for a while.

    hope i've answered all your questions!

    I love love love Your idea!!! As many people have said, I might just have to steal this idea for our little girl who will be one soon!

    I do want to know if her dress is from the Target collection? I am a beloved shopper of Target and have not seen it there.

    Love your blog ๐Ÿ™‚

    THis is so darling. My daughter's first birthday is in April and I've been thinking about a sweet little party that will be a celebration that she deserves without being over the top. I think something like this will be just the thing. Thanks for the ideas!
