With New Year’s Day approaching, I always like to have a plan in mind for some holiday eats.  We always eat seafood for New Year’s Eve, and for New Year’s Day brunch I like to change things up each year!

I am a huge fan of bread pudding, and I thought it would be fun and a little different to make a savory version!  I typically like more savory things to eat in the morning, and this bread pudding is a perfect make ahead option for New Year’s Day brunch!  You can make it ahead, and place it in the fridge overnight, and pop it in the oven when you are ready to serve brunch!  This comes in handy if you have had a late night out for New Year’s Eve!

I love to set my New Year’s Day brunch table with a few festive elements.  The kids think it is so fun to have some sparkling cider out of fancy glasses, and a few sparkly finishing touches.   The New Year is always a great time!  I love to reflect on the last year, and remember all of the good times, and I love the idea of starting fresh, and making new goals!

Sargent Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

This savory bread pudding has the perfect amount of cheese with a bit of Sargento Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese mixed in, and then finished off with Sargento Artisans Blend Shredded Parmesan Cheese for the top!  I love the flavor of Italian sausage added, but you could easily substitute with bacon, or even ham!  So many great flavors in this dish, especially with the onions, and fresh herbs.

As someone who is a total food lover, certain foods provide such wonderful memories for me!  Food isn’t just something we have to consume.  Food is love, food is time, food is tradition, and recipes are passed down from generation to generation with love and care.

My dad comes from the Brittany region in France, home of the French crêpe.  Every Christmas since I can remember, my family makes these savory ham and cheese dinner crêpes from a recipe that was passed down to my mom from my grandma (or Mamy).

Crêpes are often thought of as a sweet dessert, but savory crêpes are equally as good, and they are a perfect dish to add to your holiday table!

Holiday Table Dinner Spread

My family has made these savory dinner crêpes for special holidays as long as I can remember, it really isn’t Christmas unless our favorite dinner crêpes are served!

Sargento Artisan Shredded Swiss Cheese

The recipe has a beautiful béchamel sauce with ham, onions, mushrooms, and is completed with some Sargento Artisan Blends Shredded Swiss Cheese, as well as a little sprinkling on top!  They are savory and scrumptious, and I could never bite into one without thinking of all those family Christmas’ over the years!   I love bringing this tradition from my childhood to my little family’s Christmas table each year, and I hope you will too!

Living in Utah, my family has learned to embrace the cold winter months.  We love the outdoors, and come hot or cold, it is always nice to get outside and enjoy family time!

We recently had our first big snowstorm here in Utah!  As soon as the first big snowfall hits, our kids are chomping at the bit to get outside and play in the snow, and of course, build a snowman!  I always love seeing how excited they are for the fresh fallen snow!

We successfully made our first family snowman of the year!  He might be the cutest one yet, and the kids promptly named him “Frosty!”  We came in from the frigid air, and warmed up with a nice warm bowl of cauliflower cheese soup, complete will all the fixings!  We teamed up with Modern Atelier to capture our fun family time in this video, and it is something I will cherish in the years to come!  I hope you enjoy it too!
