We are big fans of best selling Author Mo Willems at our house, especially my first grader Norah. She loves the Elephant & Piggie books and is always bringing them home from the school library! We are so excited to partner with Disney-Hyperion to celebrate the release of the last Elephant & Piggie book, The Thank you Book by showing our gratitude and thankfulness all month long!
The Thank You Book is all about saying “thank you,” as Gerald and Piggie best friends set out to tell everyone they love thank you!
We decided to use the Thankorama Spinner that came in our Mo Mail package to pick someone to highlight and focus our gratitude on this month. We came upon teacher, which was just perfect for Norah since she has had an outstanding teacher this year!
You can download the “I will thank Speech Bubbles” below, and share who you plan to thank on social media using #ThankoRama! You can also head to Thankorama.com for more activities, downloads, coloring pages and more!

We made a plan, and decided to write a “Thank You” note for Norah’s teacher.
Norah also wanted to make something special for her teacher. She really wanted something that she could make on her very own, so we gathered up a few supplies to make a custom library tote.

Library Tote DIY Supplies: (affiliate links)
- Blank Canvas Tote Bag
- Acrylic Paints– I love using Martha Stewart Craft Paints
- Brush or Sponge – I used the Martha Stewart Crafts Foam Pouncers
- Fresh Apple
Step by Step Instructions for a DIY Apple Stamped Library Tote
Step One
Place a piece of cardboard inside of the tote bag (this will keep the paint from bleeding through), and cut the apple in half top to bottom.
Step Two
Dip the sponge tool into the paint, and dap a little bit of paint onto the apple in one thin layer.
Step Three
Position the apple paint side down over the part of the canvas press down to stamp the apple.
Step Four
Gently lift the apple, and repeat the stamp in a pattern however you would like.
Step Five
Allow to dry completely.
We packed the library tote with Norah’s Thank you notes, flowers, and the Thank You book all set to give to her favorite teacher, and she couldn’t be more thrilled! I just love seeing her eyes light up, and be so excited to make something special for someone that she appreciates so much and makes such difference in her life. I’m so happy that she is so happy to show her gratitude and shower her teacher in Thank You’s!
