Boston with Kids

For our big summer vacation this year, we decided to head back to Maine.  Since we fly into Boston, we thought why not spend a few days in Boston again!  It is such a fun city to explore.  Since we did the freedom trail last time, we decided we wanted to explore a few spots we missed.

It was easiest to hop on and hop off the Old Town Trolley tours of Boston by Historic Tours of America.  We have gone on several of their tours around the country, and we really have enjoyed them! You can get a day ticket and the running trolleys will pick and drop you off at all the major stops in the city all day long, and they come every 15 minutes.  With limited time in the city, I’d highly suggest it!  Especially with kids who can get tired out from all the walking.

We stopped off at the USS Constitution Museum.  The kids loved exploring the old ship, and seeing all the old canons, and sleeping quarters of the soldiers.  I just love how interested they are in history!

This trip to Boston, I really wanted to check out Acorn Street in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.  It is the most adorable street in all of Boston in my opinion.  Such character, and so old and charming!

Another favorite thing we did in Boston that we haven’t done before is the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum!  It is the perfect activity for kids in Boston!  Very fun, and interactive!  The kids get to be a part of the fun and pretend to be one of the participants in the Boston Tea party!  They were able to learn about history while having fun!  And, throwing some “tea” overboard was sure a hit for them!

I knew the kids would need some new summer staples before we set off on our trip.  Thomas has been growing like crazy lately, and it seems none of his shorts fit him, Ezra too!  I filled out a questionnaire about sizes and styles that my kids and I prefer with KidBox, and it was as easy as that!  Kidbox sent over a summer staple wardrobe for my kids, and it made it so easy!  I just packed all of those items for the trip, and my kids were summer wardrobe and vacation ready!  I couldn’t recommend it enough!  Their boxes include some really great options, and name brands we love like 7 For All Mankind, Joe’s Jeans, Penguin, Appaman, Diesel, and so many more!  Kidbox would be a great option for Back to School shopping too without all the fuss!  You can easily keep or return any items you don’t want making it so easy to check that off your list!

One of my favorite travel looks I wore on the trip from Evereve was this super comfy sweat skirt with a draw string waist. So perfect to pack, and wear with no ironing.  Skirts are my go-to in the summer, especially when it is hot!  I also paired it with my favorite Sorel sandals that are comfortable to walk in for miles, and a super lightweight T-shirt!  I can’t get enough Tee’s in the summer!  Always a good choice!

It was so fun to be able to visit Boston again with the kids!  Such a cool town, and I hope we are able to go back soon and explore some more!
