Party // neon baby shower

June 27, 2012

i recently had the chance to help throw a fun neon themed baby shower for my good friend becky kimball!  the lovely heather, from milk glass and honey and i got together to pull off a lovely shower!

heather put together a darling invitation to help set the tone of the shower.

there was candy and sweet galore!  heather made these darling animal-topped jars to place the candy in, and we put them on my pink and white striped tray from ikea.

heather put together a great tutorial on how she made these darling jars, check it out over on her blog milk glass and honey!

heather made these darling garlands, and hanging chandeliers out of triangles she cut out of neon paper, and she sewed them together on her sewing machine.

they really were darling hanging over the desserts!

we served izze drinks, because the colors fit in just perfect!  i added some neon straws directly the bottles with neon avery labels.  i added a little neon flag to the top for the finishing touch.
i love a good theme, so i packaged up my gift for becky in a fun gable box with neons.
i made becky a fun colorful striped quilt like the one i made my little thomas.  i’ve been dying for a chance to make a girl version, and i love how it turned out with the pinks!
for thank you gifts, heather ordered and painted these darling wooden berry baskets in our neon colors, and i filled them with mini succulents and packages of goodies with a little note that heather made saying, “thanks for coming xoxo.”
it was so fun to use the neon trend as the theme, and shower becky and her baby girl!

LOVE this shower! taking notes for sure! And of course love the striped blanket. Looks just like Lucy's! I have to agree. The pink totally makes it! seriously, the thank you succulents take the cake.

I'm so tickled by all the details, especially the candy jars! I'm working on a circus party and I'm already off to Michael's for primer to make those jars…I knew I was saving them for a reason. I'm always inspired by your parties!

I've looked and looked but alas, no luck – is there any chance you can tell me from where the ceramic pony head container comes? I am besotted!
